working on illustrations of characters from this dystopian fantasy AU that was originally Miyazaki-influenced. was going to post Schuldig and Crawford today, and almost got there, but Crawfordhas apparently locked himself in his dressing room needs more time.
in this AU telepaths don't have mental shields they way they do in fanon/canon(?), and instead rely on pharmaceuticals and technology. here Schuldig wears a veil imbued blocking technology. this would be prologue in the AU; he is meeting Crawford for the first time and delivering a decision that will be very displeasing to Crawford.
(a plea: hey woo! it's my first art in... a very long time. before my id/ego/psyche/muse/motivation/whatever goes and locks itself in the can again, just wanted to entreat you-- I ADORE any supportive comments, you would be a golden god to leave one. but it would be v helpful to not say "this looks like [this other thing]" or "reminds me of." I KNOW THIS IS A HARD THING TO RESIST, I DO IT TOO. XD It's not inherently a bad thing, and I can't explain it, but I'm trying so hard to keep the art coming, and comparisons and references throw me off my game rn. weird thing to ask, and I'm legit embarrassed to ask it, but I'm a desperate person and just trying to rekindle the fragile art thing after being solidly blocked for uh (checks watch) like seven years? but anyway--thank you for clicking through in any case!)

Date: 2022-01-18 12:09 pm (UTC)Many good things going on here, as always in your art. Intensely interesting premise and also interesting ways to develope it visually. Also, totally unrelated, but I always find it very hard to draw eyes that are not boringly, perfectly symmetrical (eyes are never like that in real life) but still work and are looking in the same direction, as they should.
Looking forward to that Crawford, whenever he's ready!

Date: 2022-01-19 01:23 am (UTC)The eyes are all down to Minekura lol. I needed to get this out by the weekend, didn't have time to study Hayao Miyazaki's style, so went with my default which is apparently now Minekura. Years of drawing her dudes--particularly Gojyo = asymmetrical eyes.
I'll talk to the man but he's being stubborn. I think he's displeased bc he has the most ratty, least fancy clothes anyone in this AU; he doesn't realize we all like a bit of rough sometimes...
